REWU Trade Union Leaders Convene in Rubavu to Chart Strategic Course for Sustainable Mining

Rubavu, Rwanda – A significant leadership retreat for REWU Trade Union leaders, representing various mining companies across Rwanda, concluded successfully at the Kivu Park Hotel in Rubavu. The gathering served as a pivotal moment for union officials to reflect on past achievements, enhance organizational coordination, and firmly align their actions with REWU’s overarching strategic vision for the future of the sector.

 

The retreat’s agenda, as presented by the REWU Secretary General, focused on several key objectives designed to bolster the union’s impact and effectiveness:

 

  • Progress and Accountability: The union leadership was presented with detailed statistical evidence highlighting REWU’s decade-long progress in fostering a professional, responsible, and sustainable mining environment.

 

  • Mission Clarification: The meeting reinforced and clarified REWU’s core mission, objectives, and long-term vision for its members and the national economy.
