WOMEN AND CHILDREN RIGHTS

The program of the Rwanda Extractive Industry Workers Union aims to promote the rights of women and children working in the mining and quarry industry. One of the key initiatives of the program is the establishment of Early Childhood Development centers (ECDs) at mining sites. These centers will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children of mining workers, allowing them to receive proper care and education while their parents work.

Additionally, the program focuses on fighting against gender-based violence (GBV) in the industry. This includes raising awareness about GBV, providing support services for survivors, and advocating for policies and practices that prevent and address GBV in the workplace. By addressing these issues, the program seeks to create a more inclusive and safe working environment for all workers in the extractive industry.
