The Rwanda Extractive Industry Workers Union is proud to announce our ongoing projects aimed at improving the lives of our members and their families.
We have partnered with World Vision Rwanda on a Child Protection and Advocacy campaign, working together to ensure that children in the extractive industry and Even in the Community are safe and protected. Through this partnership, we are advocating for policies and practices that prioritize the well-being of children in our sector.
Additionally, we are collaborating with the Belgium Development Agency-Enabel Rwanda on promoting Decent Work in the extractive industry. This project focuses on ensuring that workers in our sector have access to fair wages, safe working conditions, and opportunities for professional growth.
Furthermore, we have a project with UNICEF Rwanda to establish and operationalize Early Childhood Development Centers in the mining sector. By investing in early childhood education, we are laying the foundation for a brighter future for the children of our members.
Lastly, we are working with UN Women on Gender-Based Violence prevention in the mining sector. Through this project, we are raising awareness about GBV and implementing strategies to create a safer and more equitable workplace for all employees.
At the Rwanda Extractive Industry Workers Union, we are committed to creating a better future for our members and their families. Through these partnerships and projects, we are making strides towards a more just and sustainable extractive industry.
