KARONGI DISTRICT – On January 12, 2026, through the existing partnership, REWU participated in a meeting organized by World Vision and Rubengera Sector to coordinate the implementation of vital community development projects within the sector.
The meeting focused on clarifying World Vision’s local initiatives and defining the monitoring roles of its various partners.
The meeting was officially opened by the Sector Executive Secretary, who facilitated introductions among the attendees.
During the opening remarks, the Secretary offered special praise for REWU’s dedication, highlighting their active involvement in community programs.
The Secretary noted that although several other World Vision partners show an active commitment to serving the community, REWU is more active than others, demonstrating a high level of professional commitment to the partnership.
Following the opening, the World Vision Sector Lead provided comprehensive explanations of their projects and detailed the exact methods by which partners like REWU are expected to implement these initiatives.
A major theme of the meeting was the “Tujyanemo” program, a collaborative framework designed to ensure that World Vision staff, implementing partners, and local sector officials work in total synergy.
This unified approach is intended to bring lasting change within the community.
