Goals: The goals of REWU include the following
- To bring together workers in areas of extractive industry to have better defend their workers rights.
- To maintain and develop, among the extractive workers, unity and solidarity in pursuit of their social welfare.
- To represent its members and defend their workers’ rights and decent work for both employees and employers’ benefit
- To contribute and participate in policy advocacy on policy issues affecting extractive workers and their families;
- To fight against worst form of child labor;
- To promote child protection and establishment of ECD centers at working place
- To advocate for enforcement of social legislation and respect of collective agreements;
- To work towards the promotion of democracy and social justice within the mining, cooperatives and quarry companies
- To enhance professional skills and the capacity building of mine workers
- To promote decent work in mining sector
